Our work began at the University of Helsinki, where Alejandro García Pérez and Professor Edward Hæggström discovered that magnetohydrodynamics could extract interstitial fluid without breaking the skin — forming the foundation of Sofio’s needle-free glucose monitoring technology.
This is the first time in more than 25 years that a new platform technology has been introduced in this domain.

Sofio’s 60-person team brings expertise from physics, chemistry, engineering, manufacturing, and medical devices —representing 20 nationalities and 15 PhDs.
